In this special series of six workshops, you will learn basic computer skills that will help those anyone that has experienced job loss, a reduction in your work hours, or are entering the workforce after being away for an extended time.
All classes will be done in a virtual environment and require internet access.
Moving forward, there will be two opportunities to take each course. If you aren’t available one day, there will be another day available for that specific class.
January 5, 2021 (1:00 – 3:00 PM)
Introduction to Computers and the Internet
This introductory level class will cover: Windows 10, the Start Menu, Task Bar, your desktop, navigating the computer, copy, cut, and past, and browsing the internet.
February 9 & 23, 2021 1:00 – 3:00 pm)
Setting Up and Using E-mail
This introductory level class will teach you how to create an account, send an email, receive an email, explain junk (SPAM) emails, what phishing is, how to use CC and BCC, send an attachment, and using the calendar.
March 9, 2021 (1:00 – 3:00 pm)
Microsoft Word Basics
This beginner level class will focus on opening Microsoft Word, understanding the Tool Bar, creating a document, and saving a document.
April 13, 2021 (1:00 – 3:00 pm)
Microsoft Excel Basics
This beginner level class will focus on opening Excel, understanding the Tool Bar, creating a spreadsheet, and understanding formulas.
May 11, 2021 (1:00 – 3:00 pm)
Utilizing Mail Merge
This extension class of Microsoft Word will teach you how to create and use merge fields and finding a data source to create a mass mailing.
June 1, 2021 (1:00 – 3:00 pm)
Understanding Apps and Your Smartphone
This basic level class will help you learn how to navigate your cell phone, download and use apps, and better understand the settings.
