“My whole life is wrapped up in Mary Rigg”
Trisha first came to Mary Rigg to get assistance with child-care for her sons (you can read that part of her story here). At that time, she was working part time and looking for ways to earn more money and support her family. She was then connected to the employment team where she took job readiness courses and was enrolled in Medical Billing and Coding classes. In our previous update from Trisha, she was taking classes five days a week to earn her certification in. She earned her certification in January of 2021, but her story doesn’t stop there.
A lot has changed since then.
While figuring out what her next steps would be, her employment coach suggested she apply for a temporary rent assistance position at Mary Rigg. She would help process applications that would help cover rent for people facing eviction. She got the job! After she started in the position, she realized her passion was not with billing and coding but instead with social services. She loves being able to help tenants facing eviction. and ease other financial burdens so they can focus on other aspects of their life. Today, Trisha works with Mary Rigg full time. We are so proud of Trisha and how far she has come. We are so excited to have her on the Mary Rigg team!
