Courtney was living paycheck to paycheck, working to put herself through school. Eventually she graduated and got a good paying job, but her money troubles didn’t go away. She couldn’t figure out where her money was going. She had credit card debt, no savings, and bills going unpaid. “I started making more money but was still making poor decisions that left me broke.” Tired of feeling stressed out from her debt, she decided she wanted to get her financial life under control. She knew she needed additional support to reach her goals.

Nora's Story

It’s not often we get updates long after someone has gone through a program at Mary Rigg, but we were ecstatic to hear from a former HSE and OY client. Nora’s journey started more than 15 years ago.

Growing up, Nora was a bright kid – she was in the star program at her school and got good grades, but after a toxic home environment, she had to drop out of high school and support herself. While leaving that environment was the right choice for her, Nora found herself on a path she didn’t want to be on. “I was just, you know, working dead end jobs barely making it, driving around on a suspended license and no education, really. I knew that that’s not where I wanted to be.”
