Alecia began a dual certification program in August and has now earned the Certified Medical Assistant Administrative Specialist (CMAA) and the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) certifications.
Alecia Sturdivat has been working in medical record for 17 years with experience in both patient registration and medical insurance. With all of that experience, it only made sense that the next step would be to get certifications.
Alecia began a dual certification program in August and has now earned the Certified Medical Assistant Administrative Specialist (CMAA) and the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) certifications. These certifications allow for Alecia to re-join the workforce and pursue work that will allow her to work remotely.
Alecia’s experience with Mary Rigg has been completely remote. When COVID-19 hit, the approach to career development had to change with the pandemic. She never walked into the neighborhood center and only met with the team through Zoom. Alecia is a great example of remote participation in employment support from start to finish.
At 55, Alecia is excited about the next steps. She can work remotely with better pay and the future possibility to start her own business with 2 or 3 doctors. She’s even excited about the prospect of working from anywhere, including the beach or from a balcony in New Orleans!
