Spots Open in Training Class for Serious Job Seekers

 

Serious Job Seekers Wanted! Spots are still open for serious job seekers looking for free training to help them find a better job. Classes start March 22.

 

Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center's Computer & Career Training course teaches basic computer skills that will help you find a new job or make more money at the one you already have. You will also benefit from financial and career coaching. Classes are held for ten weeks, Monday through Thursday from either 1-4:30 pm or from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

 

The classes cover topics including:

 

  • Basic computer literacy--keyboarding, Microsoft Word & Excel, internet, and e-mailing
  • Networking tips to help you talk confidently about your skills
  • Resumes and cover letters
  • Interview practice and clothing opportunities
  • Personal employment coaching and financial coaching
  • Incentives to keep your motivation going for as long as it takes to get that job offer!

 

Participants must commit to the full ten weeks. Assistance with transportation and child/adult care may be available.

*Please note: Minimum requirement for class is HS Diploma or near completion of GED. GED classes are offered at Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center and at Goodwin Community Center.
