Youth Employment Services
The YES program offers creative and flexible ways for young people ages 16-25 to overcome the obstacles that prevent them from pursuing careers.
The YES Mission:
"To move youth and young adults toward greater self sufficiency through education, training, and employment."
Services include:
· Basic skills training, including remedial education
· Tutoring, mentoring and other services leading to completion of GED
· Education Resources
· Job development activities
· Post Employment Support
· Job-readiness training
· Barrier-busting assistance.
A young person must be between ages 16 and 25, must have a low income and must face at least one of these social barriers:
· Is deficient in basic literacy skills
· Is a school dropout
· Is homeless, runaway or foster child
· Is pregnant or a parent when enrolled
· Was an offender
· Needs additional assistance.
During this program participants may benefit from voucher to pay for a wide variety of things that hamper them from getting and keeping jobs, such as:

· Child care
· Uniforms or clothing needs for work or job interviews
· Tools for new mechanics or carpenters
· Parking tickets that prevent a client from driving
· Rent
· Legal bill
· Food
· Overdue utility bills
· Gasoline
· Bus passes
· School tuition
