Job Club Presents...

Fridays, 1-3 pm

 

Each Friday, Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center will host a special guest speaker from the community to discuss employment and education-related topics. These sessions are free and open to the public.

 

6/20   Dress for Success   

  A presentation about Dressing for Success for a job interview

 

6/27    Martin University:

           College Bound

                   

  Learn about the benefits of attending Martin University

 

7/11   Indiana Tech

                   

    A presentation about post-secondary education opportunities  

 

 

7/18   Get on Board:

          Driving First Student

          buses

                   

    Learn about what it takes to become a bus driver for

    First Student  

 

7/25    Indiana Business College

        

    You CAN afford to get a degree--learn all about admissions, 

    financial aid, and the programs offered by IBC  

 

 

8/1    Own your Own Business

   

    Want to know what it takes to own your own business?

     Need to know what it takes to get started? 

     Kathryn Rietmann from Business Ownership Initiative will be 

     at Mary Rigg to share what it takes! 

       

8/8   Staffing Agencies:

        Why use one?

 

    Looking for full-time, part-time, or temporary work? 

    Sara Schmitt from Elwood Stafffing will be on-site 

    to talk about how to get a job through Elwood Staffing

 

8/15  Good Answers:

         Good Answers to

         Hard Application/

         Interview Questions

 

    Not sure how to explain why you left your last job?

       Not sure how to explain long gaps in employment?

8/22  Want to be a CNA

         or QMA?

     Cindy Flanagan from the Nurses Aide Training Center will

         present on what it takes to become a CNA/QMA

Be sure to fill out a ticket each time you attend--a drawing will be held for a free computer and printer! The more you attend, the better your chances are of winning (you need not be present to win).
