Before & After School Programs

Students who participate in before and after school programs perform better in school. They are less likely to drop out of high school, use drugs or engage in criminal behavior. They tend to be physically healthier, and are more likely to attend college.

At Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center we believe in the potential of every child. Our before and after school programs extend the learning opportunities for each student. Our caring staff oversees homework completion, and learning through games and recreation. Our older participants also explore college and career opportunities. All students are given the opportunity for physical activity in our gym or on the playground.

Highlights of our program include:

  • tutor.pngExtended care hours, Monday-Friday -- drop off begins at 6:30AM and after school care is available until 5:45pm
  • Full day programming for most out-of-school breaks and holidays
  • Dinner Monday-Thursday, generously provided through the support of Second Helpings
  • Sliding scale fees to keep costs manageable for working families

Note: Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center also provides special after school programming for students at George Washington Community High School at no cost. Program service times vary. Call 317.693.5555 for more details or send email to Brandon Buckley, After School Coordinator at GWCHS.
